The Church of Holy Trinity
Budva
On the narrow, part of the land on which lies the Old Town of Budva, next to the ramparts and the Citadel on the west side there is a church of the Holy Trinity.
After the downfall of the Venetian Republic in 1797, Austria allowed the construction of the Church of Holy Trinity at the request of the orthodox population of Budva, supported by the Bishop of Montenegro, and its construction was finished in 1804. It has a bell loft with three bells and a dome. Its facade is decorated with a rosette above the western door. The iconostasis of this church is the work of Greek iconographers from the 19th century and possesses great artistic value. In front of the church, there is the tombstone of Stefan Mitrov Ljubisa, a well known author and politician, who was born in Budva.
